Some unexpected and fun ways to use OneNote

As you know, I love OneNote. It’s such a versatile and flexible app. I currently use it for my planner, organizing notes for each family member, organizing tax information, etc.

There are just so many uses and here are a few that I bet you didn’t think of before:

Word/Number Games

Do you like to play word games? You can use OneNote to collect PDF versions of some favorites such as crosswords, search-a-word, and Sudoku. Just use the “draw” feature and you’ll never need paper and pencil again.

Recipe Notebook

OneNote is a fabulous place to store your recipes. You don’t even have to rewrite the recipe information. You can just use the web clipper to save your favorites directly into OneNote.

Scrapbook

This is a big one for me…. With all the paperwork, drawings, etc. that the kids accumulate at home and school, there is just no way I can save it all. OneNote is a great place to “store” all this memorabilia. Just snap a photo and save it into your notebook. You can have a section for each child. I found that this helps me get over the guilt I feel when I throw away the piles of “stuff”.

Household Inventory

OneNote can help you inventory your house. Each time you buy a new appliance, computer or other device…. you can keep all the necessary information in one notebook. It’s a great way to have a photo, serial number, owner’s manual, and more all in one place. This can end up being a lifesaver if you ever need the information for insurance purposes.

Gamer’s Notebook

Do you need to keep track of your gaming stats? Maybe you want a place to keep all notes for how to level up, gain equipment or items? OneNote can help you organize everything you need to keep track of to make your gaming experience easier.

Personal Diary/Journal

OneNote is perfect for anyone wishing to keep a private journal. You can either type out your journal or use a style and and pen option to write. I like to keep my journal divided into sections by month. This way, I can “lock” each section with a password.

Do you have any other unexpected or unusual ways that you use OneNote? I’d like to know… You can leave a comment below!
